Aerial Loops

Canon EOS Rebel T5 / Lens: EF-S18-55mm

This was my first time shooting any dance or performance; it was fun but also tricky. The tricky part of this shoot was moving quickly to get the shots I wanted. You really had a few seconds to get the picture before the person couldn’t hold the position anymore or the momentum of the loop spun them around.

I love dance overall and how the performer makes it look simple. The premise behind this collection was to showcase the beauty, endurance, and grace it requires to do any kind of performance.

One of my favorite pictures. The vignette effect on this image was all accidental but I absolutely love it. The vignette happened because the room was hot.

I love the simplicity of this picture but I like it showcases the chemistry a person needs to have with their performance partner.

Absolutely love the technique of both girls. The one thing I would change from this is moving closer to the right, so there is more space between the end of her feet and the edge of the image.

Out of all the images, this one is my favorite duo photo. The lines from the dancers are symmetrical to each other it’s really aesthetically pleasing to look at.

This solo image of Michelle encapsulates what I love about dance. The strength it takes to make it look easy but the beautiful lines she has created.

Major thanks to Caty and Michelle for helping with my final project for school. Check out the rest of the gallery for the complete collection.
